Each consult includes a full discussion, physical examination, and clear next steps if anything needs attention.
How The Consultation Works
A consultation starts with a structured discussion about your pet’s health, behaviour, and any recent changes.
This helps identify issues that may not be obvious during a physical exam. It also gives you the chance to raise concerns or ask questions about diet, activity, or general care.
Because the consult happens at home, your pet is assessed in a familiar environment. This often gives a more accurate picture of behaviour and movement.
Full Physical Examination
The examination covers all major body systems, including skin, coat, limbs, chest, abdomen, heart, lungs, eyes, and ears.
Dental health is also assessed, as this is a common area where problems develop over time.
If anything is identified during the exam, the next step is explained clearly. This may involve further testing or treatment, depending on the situation.
Practical Support During Consults
Where needed, an additional team member assists during the consult.
This means your pet can be handled safely and calmly without you needing to restrain them. It allows the examination to be performed properly, even with anxious or uncomfortable pets.
This approach improves both safety and the quality of the assessment.
Diagnostics And Immediate Care
If further investigation is required, we can often move straight to the next step.
Depending on the situation, this may include blood tests or other diagnostic tests. Having this capability available during the consult reduces delays and avoids unnecessary follow-up visits.
Medications can also be provided at the time of the consult, so treatment can begin without a visit to a pharmacy.
Ongoing Care And Monitoring
After the consultation, any findings are explained in practical terms.
You’ll be guided on what needs to be done next, whether that is treatment, monitoring, or no action at all.
For most healthy adult pets, annual checks are sufficient. Younger animals may need more frequent visits during early development, while older pets often benefit from more regular monitoring.
